Improving Water Efficiency in a Municipal Indoor Swimming-Pool Complex: A Case Study

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study aimed to determine the water demand of a municipal swimming pool complex propose use efficiency measures. Concomitantly, possibility recycling and reusing from filter backwashing was evaluated. The pools consumed 25.6% water, 24.5%, showers 34.7%. Despite current impossibility reducing consumption in backwashing, it is feasible promote more efficient through by adopting simple water-saving initiatives for showers, taps, flushing cisterns. These were organized into three distinct scenarios: (a) cistern volume adjustment replacement washbasin kitchen taps; (b) shower (c) adjustment, shower, washbasin, taps replacement. Under scenarios 1, 2, 3, reduction 8.0, 13.2, 20.4%, respectively. initial investment scenario 1 €2290.5, €859.0 2 €3149.5 3; annual bill €7115.4, €11,518.1, €17,655.9, Therefore, turnover four (scenario 1), one 2), months 3). washings attained required standard irrigation after being subjected 15 h sedimentation.

Water ingestion during swimming activities in a pool: a pilot study.

Chloroisocyanurates are commonly added to outdoor swimming pools to stabilize chlorine disinfectants. The chloroisocyanurates decompose slowly to release chlorine and cyanuric acid. Studies conducted to determine if the chloroisocyanurates might be toxic to swimmers showed that they were not and that ingested cyanuric acid passed through the body unmetabolized. This fact was used to determine t...
